Pastor John Thomas

The Eastern Texas Global Church Conference President Pro Tem  appointed me  as the new pastor at First Methodist Church – Mineola effective January 15, 2023.  During the the last 2 years I served the First  Methodist Church in Troup and First  Methodist Church in Walnut Grove.  Prior to serving the Troup and Walnut Grove communities, I  served as a licensed Local Pastor in Carroll Springs and as a part-time Pastor in Mount Vernon and Neches. I was  also  a minister at churches in New Summerfield and Pierce’s Chapel for three years.  Prior to the beginning of my church ministry, I had the blessed opportunity to be  a public-school teacher and coach at school districts in Westwood, Neches, Tyler, and Elkhart. I received

a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech and a masters’ degree from Lamar University.

I recently completed course of study at Perkins, Duke,  and Asbury  Seminary and was recently ordained Full Elder  in the Global Methodist Church in February, 2023.

My  wife, Rhiannon, graduated from Lindale High School and Texas Tech University. We  have two children Evan (15) and Brooklyn (11).  My family is  grateful to be here, and give glory to God who always bats last, and even now is drawing all people to Himself through Christ and the Power of His Holy Spirit!
